Collateral Damage

According to Merriam Websters online:

collateral damage
Main Entry:
collateral damage
: injury inflicted on something other than an intended target; specifically : civilian casualties of a military operation

On CNN this morning was a mention of the Southwest airlines debacle regarding their failure to maintain planes. According to 2 FAA officials, the FAA allowed Southwest to slide on many infractions thus putting passenger lives in danger.

So basically when it comes to the bottom line, your life has very little value to this corporation. Its cheaper in the long run to pay damages than to do their job and keep you safe.

Ya know, I try really hard to be a positive person but when I read things like this, its difficult.
