Love Romances & More Award

I just received the fabulous news that Winter's Daughter took second place in the Love Romances & More Best Book 2008 awards for Best Mystery / Suspense. I am utterly thrilled to have been nominated let alone taking second. (It was a tie with Josh Lanyon & Sarah Black's Partner's In Crime)

I cannot convey to you what this book means to me. Writers are always encouraged to write the book of our heart and Winter's Daughter is just that book. Of all of my characters Syn is the one I feel the most deeply.

I'm hard at work on the sequel, Rites of Spring, and this is Syn's younger sister Chloe's story.

My blog has won an award!

The oh-so-fabulous Tilly Greene has nominated my blog - this very page that you're reading, for the I heart your blog award. The award originated from The Romance Studio - Tilly won then nominated me.
Thanks, doll!
Okay so the things I'm suppose to do are:
Add the logo of your award to your blog - There it is, all nice and shiny
Add a link to the person who awarded it to you - She's up above.
Nominate at least 7 other blogs - its going to be tough!
Add links to those blogs on your blog - I can do that.
Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs - I can do that too - I love to hit blogs and add comments. :)
My Nominees:

What is a girl to do?

What is a girl to do? I was going to blog on Project Runway but the Emmys were announced today. I'm so confused.

Let's dish on the Emmys as I really don't have much to say about them and later I can dish on PR. I went through the list of nominees only to realize I didn't know anything about more than half of the shows. I'm afraid network television is beyond me.

A funeral notable mentions:

outstanding reality program- Dirty Jobs versus Kathy Griffin. I love both of them but I'm pretty sure in a street brawl Kathy can take Mike. She has been working out you know.

Outstanding comedy series -my money is on 2 1/2 men only because I haven't watched the other shows. :)

outstanding drama-I'm going to say Dexter because serial killers rule!

Outstanding lead actress in a comedy-now this show I actually watch Ugly Betty and America Ferrera has been nominated. Go girl!

Outstanding nonfiction series- Deadliest Catch baby!! I do have to say that Discovery Channel is making a ton of money off of the show and the crabbers don't receive very much of it. (Just thought I'd throw that in there)

outstanding reality competition- I think it's all about Top Chef but they are up against PR. This could be a close one.

If you want to see the whole list, go here http://cdn.emmys.tv/awards/2008pte/60thpte_noms.php

Happy Thursday!

It's Oscar Time!

Yes, it's time for the Oscars. Ever since I was a child (which was only a few weeks ago) I would make popcorn and watch the Oscars with my grandmother and Mom. We love the clothing more than anything else. Well, there is also the aspect of seeing the stars without the acting mask firmly in place.

So here are my nominations for the Oscar this year, read them and weep! (Feel free to harass me if they're wrong. :) )

Best Movie: No Country For Old Men - I'd like to see Juno win but I just don't think its going to happen. Its rare that a film with a comedic bent wins best picture. (Tells me the voters are all stuffy!)

Best Actor: Tommy Lee Jones - The man has paid his dues. Yes, I love Johnny Depp too but let's face it, he could do a Verizon commercial and get an Oscar nod.

Best Actress: Either Cate Blanchett or possibly Julie Christie. I think Julie is a long shot as she hasn't been 'around' much in the past 15 years or so.

Best Supporting Actor: Casey Affleck - He's incredibly talented but if No Country wins for best film, then I predict it will be Javier Bardem.

Best Supporting Actress: Ruby Dee - hands down!

Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay): Atonement

Best Writing (Original Screenplay): Juno or Lars and the Real Girl
